Grants

A grant is a financial aid award that does not need to be repaid. Grants are a form of need-based aid, meaning they are distributed based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Below is a list of the grants available at Biola University.

Cal Grant A

Cal Grant B

Eligibility:
Undergraduate with eligible (3.0 or higher) GPA and financial need

  1. First year: only living allowance totaling $1,551
  2. Remaining three years: living allowance, plus $9,708 each remaining year.

Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant

International Student Aid Grant

Eligibility:
  1. International student (non-U.S. citizen) with F1 visa
  2. Minimum academic standing of 70% / "C", Demonstrate approximately 75% of the educational costs by a sponsor
  3. Must complete application to the University by March 15
  4. Must be a full-time student during the academic year at Biola (12 or more units per semester for undergraduate students, 9 or more for graduate students)

Note: Recipient must be a senior at Biola with intention to graduate at the end of the school year. Along with a minimum 3.60 GPA and attendance at Biola for at least two years, certain personal qualifications are required. Awarded to one senior per year by student affairs committee. Not an open application process.
