Dear Alumni Family,
As you may know, WestmontCollege’s campus has been significantly impacted by one of the fires burning in Southern California. All rivalry has been put aside as Biola reaches out to its sister school that has sustained so much loss. In partnership with Biola’s Associated Students, alumni are welcomed to join in outreach efforts for victims of the Westmont fire. If you would like to make a monetary donation to this important cause, call the Associated Students office at (562) 903-4882. All funds will go directly to help the 67 students who lost everything and the 15 faculty members who lost their homes. Responding to Biola’s request regarding how the University might help, Westmont personnel replied, “We could use prayer most of all to solve both our student and faculty housing issues! We are so thankful for all the efforts to help us but our students and faculty who have lost their homes and possessions will need comfort. In another outreach effort following the fires, Biola is also involved with our local communities as clean up begins and opportunities to help the victims arise. Specifically, Biola is holding a clothes and food drive to partner with the American Red Cross and Orange County Rescue Mission to help people in our local communities begin to rebuild their lives. We will be collecting the following items: - Gently used or new clothes
- Socks
- Pasta (all kinds)
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Cup of noodles
- Peanut butter
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Instant rice
- Breakfast bars
- Boxed juices
